DAY 1 – Arrival – Moscow
Transfer to the hotel. (no guide included)
Evening at leisure.
DAY 2 – Moscow – Barnaul – Altai
Morning transfer with an English speaking guide to the airport for your flight to
Barnaul. Upon arrival in Barnaul, an English speaking guide will meet you at the
airport and transfer you to the upscale “Tursib” complex. (approximately 6 hour drive)
Accommodation in double room wooden chalets. (made out of Siberian cedar) This is
a new complex in keeping with the landscape and Russian architecture in mind.
All meals are provided at this resort.
DAY 3 – Altai (Tursib Resort)
You will start to explore a paradise for those who love nature and adventure. A
morning rafting trip on the Katun River will get your spirits soaring. The Katun is the
largest river of the Altai region. A short rest along the river and then you will proceed
on a sightseeing tour of Chemal, a small picturesque village. Visit an orthodox
monastery on Patmos Island. Take the narrow suspension bridge across to the island
to visit the Znamensky’s convent. Return to the resort for the night.
DAY 4 – Altai (Tursib Resort)
You will transfer to Katun Island. Your adventure begins today with a 2 hour horse back
riding excursion with a picnic lunch enroute. After lunch take a hike along Mt. Sugun
Tuu (Onion Head) will leave you breathless from the beautiful scenery. (8 kilometers/
approx 4-5 hour hike) Return to the resort for the night.
DAY 5 – Altai (Tursib Resort)
Today is a day of natural, historical and archaeological phenomena, traveling by bus
through the country side. Cross the Seminskiy and Chiketaman passes, see numerous
Scythian burial mounds and the confluence of the Chuya and Katun River amongst
others. The Seminsky pass is the highest point of the Chujsky trail, some 220 metres
above sea level. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery from mountain vistas to the Kezertash
Stone Images, stone “sculptures” left from the Turkic era. More than 30 of these
carvings are found in this area.
Return to the resort for the night.
DAY 6 – Altai – Barnaul
Transfer to Barnaul with local English speaking guide. Overnight in Barnaul.
DAY 7 – Barnaul – Moscow
Transfer to the airport with your English speaking guide for your flight. Upon arrival in
Moscow you will transfer again with an English speaking guide to your hotel for the
night. Overnight Moscow.
DAY 8 - Moscow – Departure
Transfer to the airport on own for flight home.
Optional city tour of Moscow can be included depending on your flight times or extend
your stay in Moscow for a few days. Please contact us for further information.
