DAY 1: MOSCOW
Upon arrival in Moscow, transfer from the airport to your ship for embarkation. [D]
DAY 2: MOSCOW [B, L, D]
Start your day with a bus tour of the city. Pass by Leningradsky Avenue, Tverskaya Street, the Theatralny Passage, Lubyanka, the KGB building and Manezh Square. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, tour the Kremlin, Palace of Congresses, Senate Square, Arsenal, Senate buildings, the residence of the President of the Russian Federation, Tsar Bell and Tsar Cannon. Visit the Cathedral Square ensemble and one of the Cathedrals.
DAY 3: MOSCOW [B, L, D]
This day is at leisure to discover Moscow on your own, or take one of the optional tours.
DAY 4: UGLICH [B, L, D]
Arrive in Uglich, a historic town dating back to the 10th century. Walk through the city’s Golden Ring. See the 17th century Chapel of Dimitry, where Ivan the Terrible killed his 10-year old son. The day ends with a visit to the Transfiguration Cathedral.
DAY 5: YAROSLAVL [B, L, D]
This morning, visit a World Heritage site along the Volga River’s oldest city, Yaroslavl. Enjoy free time at the local market. Tour the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and pass by the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet. Enjoy an interactive tour of the former Governor’s House, now an art gallery.
DAY 6: GORITSY [B, L, D]
Arrive in the peaceful village of Goritsy and explore the fortress-like Kirillov-Belozersky Monastery, which houses magnificent frescoes created by one of Russia’s most renowned artists.
DAY 7: KIZHI [B, L, D]
Explore the picturesque island of Kizhy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The open-air Museum of Architecture includes the famous Church of the Transfiguration, a unique onion-domed masterpiece that was shaped with axes and assembled without nails. Visit Intercession Cathedral and a traditional wooden house, known as an izba.
DAY 8: MANDROGUI [B, L, D]
Enjoy beautiful scenery as the ship navigates through Svir River towards picturesque Lake Ladoga, Europe’s largest freshwater lake. Visit the traditional Russian village of Mandrogi. There will be free time to enjoy a kebab ashore.
DAY 9: ST. PETERSBURG [B, L, D]
Arrive in St. Petersburg, the city of islands, canals, bridges and majestic palaces. Visit Peter and Paul Fortress, the oldest building in the city. After lunch at a local restaurant, see the famous Hermitage Museum, the former home of tsars that contains a collection of more than three million works of art and artifacts from all over the world.
DAY 10: ST. PETERSBURG [B, L, D]
Enjoy this day to discover St. Petersburg on your own or take one of the optional tours. [B, L, D]
DAY 11: ST. PETERSBURG [B, L, D]
Visit Peterhof Palace, St. Petersburg’s most famous and spectacular Imperial estate, also known as the “Versailles of Russia”. Stroll through the Lower Park featuring 176 different fountains, majestic palaces and numerous statues of ancient Gods and heroes.
DAY 12: ST. PETERSBURG [B]
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
