Day 1: MOSCOW

Transfer from the airport to the luxurious five-star Marriott Royal Aurora hotel (or similar).  Enjoy a welcome reception dinner. [D]

Day 2: MOSCOW

Start your city tour with the Red Square and its impressive St. Basil’s Cathedral. Then, choose from the Freedom of Choice touring options, for example, the Tretyakov Gallery. In the afternoon, board the Golden Eagle train and let your exciting train adventure begin. [B, L, D]

Day 3: KAZAN

Tour the historic city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Visit the white-walled Kazan Kremlin and other architectural masterpieces. [B, L, D]

Day 4: YEKATERINBURG

Cross the Asian border and arrive in a historic city of Yekaterinburg, the capital of Urals. Tour the city including its historic Nicholas II Church. [B, L, D]

 Day 5: NOVOSIBIRSK

Tour a modern ‘Soviet’ city of Novosibirsk and its famous Opera House, the largest Opera House in the world [B, L, D]

Day 6: ONBOARD

Enjoy this day to unwind and reflect on many sights and sounds experienced in the journey so far. [B, L, D]

Day 7: IRKUTSK

Arrive in Irkutsk, also known as ‘Paris of Siberia’, and visit city’s most significant sites. One of them is the Decembrists House Museum dedicated to the exiled aristocrats, who were forced to escape to this remote outpost after 1825 revolution.  Enjoy a private concert before returning to the train. [B, L, D]

Day 8: LAKE BAIKAL

Tour Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world. If weather permits, stop at Baikal’s one of the most picturesque bays to enjoy a delicious BBQ. In the afternoon, visit Listvyanka, a small Baikal settlement that stretches in an arc along the coast at the foot of a high stony ridge. [B, L, D]

Day 9: ULAN UDE

Arrive in Ulan Ude, the capital of Buryat Republic.  Explore the Old Believers Village and learn about the culture and history of local people. Enjoy a traditional meal and a concert featuring local dancers and musicians. [B, L, D]

Day 10: ULAAN BAATAR

Visit UlaanBaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Experience an authentic Mongol style meal and learn more about the time-honoured nomadic way of life. [B, L, D]

Day 11: ONBOARD

Enjoy a more leisurely pace as we travel through the beautiful landscape of Russia’s Far East.  You can also attend one of the onboard lectures or Russian language lessons. [B, L, D]

Day 12: ONBOARD

Practice your Russian or simply relax as the train passes Shilka and Amur rivers close to the Chinese border.  Enjoy Russia at its most dramatic and remote as the Golden Eagle approaches Vladivostok. [B, L, D]

Day 13: ONBOARD

Spend the last full day onboard the Golden Eagle passing North of Seoul, Darwin, Osaka and Khabarovsk. In the evening, enjoy a Farewell dinner. [B, L, D]

Day 14: VLADIVOSTOK

After travelling through 8 time zones and covering over 6,600 miles (10,600km), the Golden Eagle arrives in Vladivostok, a military port located on the western shores of the Sea of Japan. Explore its principal military attractions including a tour of a restored submarine. Transfer to the centrally located four-star Hotel “Hyundai”. Enjoy a Farewell dinner. [B, L, D]

Day 15: VLADIVOSTOK

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight. [B]
